Historically, women were marginalized in labour rights discussions and subjected to abuse, discrimination, and coercion. However, in the modern era, female workforce participation has significantly increased. This necessitates strong legal frameworks for their protection. This article examines the challenges women face in the workforce and the legal safeguards established to protect their rights in India and globally. It also suggests necessary reforms for stronger enforcement and empowerment.
